Armed with loving and compassionate hearts and a never ceasing determination to help underprivileged children, we (Zipporah and Rowland) founded G. Abaya Foundation (GAF), a 501©(3) non-profit organization aimed at supporting orphaned and other vulnerable children in Kenya with a greater vision to the surrounding countries.
Our history in supporting orphaned and vulnerable children is much deeper and started many years ago. With undeniable passion to help these defenseless children, we established GAF with the aim of providing food, clean water, shelter, clothing, medical care and education, as well as compassionate care and unconditional love.
Over the years, together with our faithful sponsors we have cared for many children who come from different backgrounds. We want to see them flourish and become self-reliable future leaders in their communities.
The inspiration behind the naming of this organization was from the founder's brother, George Abaya, whose journey on earth ended unexpectedly before fulfilling his purpose and destiny. Though his time on earth was brief, George carried a God-given compassion and calling to uplift others. His passing left a profound ache, yet his memory inspires us to walk in the calling he never had a chance to complete. He had a big heart and a big vision to help others and to make a difference in his community. His spirit continues to shine brightly even in his absence, reminding us that God can bring purpose, beauty, and blessing out of even the deepest loss.
“In honor and memory of the Founder’s brother, George Abaya, who had a big heart and a big vision to help others but his journey on earth ended unexpectedly.”
